i movie-Basic Needs - Oxygen
In room 19 we have been researching the basic needs that humans need for survival. We used websites to find this information and then we created an imovie to explain this information to the class.
I was able to find the important ideas about the 5 basic needs that we need to survive.
Next time I think I will try and make sure that everyone gets a chance to share and not just the same person each time.

Maths evidence
W.A.L.T : find fraction of a set using multiplication and division .
Question: Arianna has 32 lollies and shares them with her friends
Dory gets 3/8 of the 32 lollies
Ellen gets 4/8 of the 32 lollies
how many does Arianna get ?
Working Out
Dory gets 3/8 of 32
you can do this by dividing the denominator by the set and then multiplying by the numerator = 12 lollies
Ellen gets 4/8 of 32
32 divided by 8= 4
4x4=16
Therefore Ellen gets 16 lollies
1/8 of 32=4 lollies
so now we have to check that we are right
16+4+12=32 lollies
so Arianna gets only 4 lollies .

Autumn Poem
Reflection
In writing this term I have been focusing on using interesting vocabulary to make my writing appealing to the reader.
I learnt how to use personification which is when you give an object or an animal a human quality eg. grey clouds crying there eyes out.
Next time I will do a brainstorm before my writing so I don't repeat my ideas.

Basic Facts
April Reflection
I am really really happy with the score I got this time and I am confident that I will get 100/100 again. I think the ones that the ones that slowed me down were the 4 times tables. I don't think I need to improve because I am confident that I will get 100/100 next time.

I am really happy with the score I got but I still need to work on my nine times tables.

I was a little disappointed with my score because for the last three months a got 100 and today I got 99 I need to focus on my 9x .

A-Z Four Word Poem
Reflections
We were learning to use interesting adjectives and verbs to describe a noun .
I was able to describe the noun really well by using adjectives but I found it a little bit hard to find verbs that start with every letter of the alphabet.
Next time I will focus more on using interesting verbs.

Room 6 Buddies
Room 6 is our buddy class for 2016. Every week we have been meeting
our buddies and have shared stories with them, had a shared lunch under the tree and we found out some secret information about them and designed some bookmarks to give them.
I really enjoy visiting my buddy because she listens well and really enjoys being with me.
My buddy is caring and fun person to read to she always loves it when I come to read with her and she gives the best hugs.
Maths Evidence - Term 1 2016
Reflection
In maths I have been learning to improve my knowledge and understanding of numbers.
I was able to round my numbers to the nearest 10,100 and 1000 really well because I have learnt how to round numbers before.
Next time I will focus more on identifying groupings of 10, 100 in 4 digit numbers.

Reading - Friends
Reflection
We have been reading the story “Friends” by Joy Cowley. Writing questions and asking questions are important because they help me understand what I am reading better.
I have learnt there are 4 different sorts of questions and they are, right there questions, think and search questions, author and me questions and on my own questions.
I was able to write questions because I used who, what where when to start my questions.
Next time I will add detail to all my questions and answers because I don't always add enough detail.

All About Me Kennings Poem
I have written a Kennings Poem about me so that other people in the class got to know more information about me. In our poem we brainstormed different ideas about ourselves.
I was able to use interesting verbs to describe what I do.
Next time I am going to re-craft my writing to include interesting adjectives, so that all my sentences relate to me.
